Lighting the Future: SFLAO Brings Electricity to the Orphanage Home

Last year marked a significant milestone for SFLAO as electricity was successfully installed at the orphanage home, transforming daily life for the children and caregivers living there.

The orphanage previously relied on limited lighting sources such as candles and daylight hours. This made evening activities challenging and often unsafe. Studying after sunset was difficult, household tasks were restricted, and the children’s ability to learn, read, and participate in normal evening routines was limited.

Recognising the importance of reliable electricity for the wellbeing and development of the children, SFLAO worked to ensure that the orphanage could be connected to a stable electrical supply. The installation included the wiring of the building and the provision of safe lighting throughout the home and perimeter security lighting.

The impact of electricity at the orphanage has been life-changing. The home is now brighter, safer, and more comfortable for everyone who lives there.

Electricity has also improved the overall functionality of the orphanage. Caregivers are able to better manage household responsibilities, lighting provides greater safety during the night, and the children now enjoy a more supportive and stable living environment 💡⚡
