At Save For Life Africa Organisation, we believe that education is the most powerful tool to break the cycle of poverty and transform lives. Every child deserves the chance to go to school, learn, and build a brighter future.
In Uganda, a school year is made up of three terms, and school fees together with school requirements must be paid three times every year; in the first, second, and third term. For many vulnerable families, meeting these costs is extremely difficult.
Education is expensive. Besides school fees, children also need essential learning materials and personal items such as school uniforms, school bags, shoes, stockings, books, and sanitary pads for the girl child so they can attend school with dignity and confidence.
Many of the children we support walk very long distances to school every day because schools are far from their homes. This often causes them to arrive late and very tired, affecting their ability to concentrate and perform well in class. Sadly, some children eventually drop out of school because the journey becomes too difficult.
In addition, children are often sent back home many times to bring school fees. This constant interruption not only embarrasses them but also affects their focus and confidence in school.
Through the kindness of our donors, Save For Life Africa Organisation continues to support vulnerable children with education. However, most of the few sponsors we currently have are not permanent, making it difficult to guarantee stable support for the children who depend on us.
We continue to pray for God’s guidance and provision to connect us with long-term sponsors and partners who can stand with us in this mission of transforming lives through education.
Our dream for the future, if God allows, is to build our own school(s) so that children in our communities can access quality education without walking long distances or facing limitations. This will help improve the education system and create lasting opportunities for many generations.
